Debbie Bailey

Today, fellow Siren author, Debbie Bailey, shares a bit about herself.

Good day to everyone and I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season.

Thanks to Lynn Tyler for inviting me to share her little piece of the web for this one day.  First I’ll tell you a little about myself.  I’m a mother of 3 (2 of my own and 1 ‘foster’ child) my oldest is 23 and the youngest is 11.  My oldest, a girl, lives in a small town just north of Edmonton, Alberta, with her boyfriend and her animals.  She’s beautiful, extremely intelligent and thank the heavens above, has the artistic talent of her Aunt and not her mom, (I can’t even draw stick men properly…lol)

My son, is twelve, going of thirty, or so he’d like to believe, and is the cutest little man alive.  He was born exactly one month early (so was his older sister) and was a very tiny 3lbs. 5oz.  He has developed very well and is happy and healthy and growing way too fast for my liking.

My ‘foster’ child came to us this past summer.  She is actually my best friend, of over 40 yrs. daughter.  My girlfriend had a bit of a breakdown this past summer and so instead of officially putting her into foster care I took her in.  She is eleven and adorable and exceedingly bright.  We’ve had a lot of issues with her mom over the past few months but hopefully they’ll be back together soon.

I have been married for 12 yrs (my daughter was from a previous relationship) and am still very happy. My husband is tolerant of my writing because he knows how much I love it.  He doesn’t understand it or why it’s so important to me but he has always been very supportive of it.

So that’s pretty much my, at home, family.  I do have two brothers, one I haven’t seen in over 20 yrs and another who lives in BC and even though we don’t talk often enough he and I are still close.  My in-laws think I’m the child of Satan because of my writing.   Well not all of them but quite a few.  Their very religious (more power to them, I say) but are not very understanding or tolerant of the kind of books that I write. Erotic fiction just isn’t in their genre of reading…lol!!  In fact, anything other than religious material isn’t in their genre of reading.

I love what I do and don’t plan on stopping any time soon so they’ll just have to live with me and my sinful stories.  Writing has always been a passion of mine; one which I shared with my late mom.  She had a wicked sense of humor and a really dirty mind, hence the erotic writing for me.

When I first got the e-mail from Siren that they wanted to publish Sienna’s Submission, I swear I could have died a happy woman that day.  To share with others what I love to do is the best gift in the world.  I’m able to stay at home for the kids and do what I love to do….write.  What more could a person ask for.  Now my second book has been accepted and is due out in February, 2012.  For Tia’s Pleasure was such a delight to write.  After some of the comments from readers about Ryder and his brothers I thought it was probably a good idea to get their story out as soon as possible.  The next book I’m working on is a shape-shifter story.  This one has been in my head for quite awhile and it got to the point where, when I started writing the third novel in the Kinsey series, I had to stop because the characters from the other one just wouldn’t leave me alone.  So hopefully, after I’ve finished with my shape shifters, my brain will let me go back to my Men of Kinsey.  Ethan, Jordan and Adam’s story is still kicking around in my brain it’s just not ready to come out fully yet.

It’s strange sometimes how my brain compartmentalizes my stories.  Since I don’t write from a lot of notes I have to trust that my brain will retain any good storyline that pop in my head.  So far it’s worked for me.  It gives me really crazy dreams sometimes…but it still works for me.

I’d really like to thank all the readers that have written to me and told me how much they enjoyed my first book and can’t wait for the next installment.  It really gives my heart a big lift to hear from them.

I also want to give a big hug of thanks to my fellow Sirenistas (a name coined by one of my fellow Siren Authors) for all their help and encouragement.  Especially ones like the wonderful Lynn Tyler for allowing me this time to share just a little tidbit of myself with you all.

And, to the end of my days, I will thank three of my favorites who took the time (before I was published) to write back to me, as a fan, and thank me for taking the time to write to them and tell them how much I enjoyed their books.  I was so blown away at that.  That I would take the timewhat are they kidding??? Tymber Dalton, Dixie Lynn Dwyer and Leah Brooke are three of the busiest authors that I can tell and they actually thanked me.  This was one of the reasons that I finally sent in my first novel.  The other was a swift kick in the ass from a good friend.  He has given me nothing but encouragement since he read my first short story.  So thank you to my readers and for all those that inspire us to continue to try to achieve the quality (and quantity…lol!!) of these wonderful authors.  The Sirenistas are the best group of writers and I am proud to be one of them.

My website is still yet unfinished, yes I bow my head in shame, but with the new addition to my family and all the dealing with social workers and other stuff, I just haven’t had the time.  BUT…hopefully, by the release date of my next book I will have it up and running and looking half way decent.  You can also follow me on Twitter @DebbieBailey5 or e-mail me directly at

I love hearing from readers!!!

Enjoy life!

“This book showed the love between the brothers and Sienna, as well it hints to other relationships for future books that I would buy in flash. The story was compelling, the characters were great and you felt as if your were right there with them. And of course the sex was hot! Not too much and not too little along with the spice of BDSM. This is just my opinion and I’m not a professional book reviewer by any means but Ms. Bailey please get other books out there soon!” –  Michele Forsyth-Wunderlich

“i wish there were real men like this out there i would love to read about kane a d the kinsey brothers. this book was so sexy.” –  Kerry Schmidt
